If you’re looking for a serious, deep and affordable racing game on the 3DS, F1 2011 is excellent. It’s at $20 right now and that’s a great price. The game is really, really heavy in content, features, options and customizations. The graphics can be disappointing in the sense that we know the 3DS is capable of Wii-like graphics and this isn’t it, and it’s full of aliasing, but the graphics are still good enough and do their job well. It’s at about the same graphical level as Need for Speed: The Run on the same platform.

Nothing much more to say about the game, it really is a great, very complete racing experience. Racing fans like myself should love this game. It’s great to see such a deep racing experience on the 3DS, and I hope games like this keep on coming.

If you’re hesitating between this and Need for Speed: The Run, I love them both; the difference is that NFS is a lot more arcade and its career mode is very silly at times, but it gets a lot better with all the challenges; as for this, this is much more of a simulation, although you can customize your controls with driving aids to choose controls that are more simulation-like or more arcade. The career mode is the exact opposite of silly, but the seriousness of it will not appeal to all. Overall, both NFS and F1 2011 are excellent racers if you take the time to explore what they have to offer and the deciding factor if you want one of the two will be how you want your racing experience. It’s too bad those two games have been overlooked, and at this price, they’re really good deals.

This is a really fun game for the 3ds. Though it may not be as good as Mario Kart 7, it does kill all of the other racing games for the 3ds. The 3d on this game is also really nice, one of the camera views puts you in the cockpit of the car and gives you the feeling that you are actually there driving. Overall I am happy I got this one, and have no issues so far. If you like racing games and want a serious one, get F1 2011.

A truly immersive handheld racing experience, F1 2011 for 3DS brings all of the best events from a racing weekend and lets you store them right in your pocket, and grab the chequered flag on the go! Rich circuit texturing and life like sound pull you deeper into the action as your favorite driver, or play as yourself, racing the current teams and drivers to establish yourself as World Champion in your quest to be the greatest. L & R trigger button mapping allows you to up and downshift to power your car through the tightest corners at Monte Carlo and throttle down the straights at Yas Marina. Featuring all of the circuits of the 2011 F1 season, there is room for plenty of interactive gameplay, right down to the last set of tyres.
