  1. As everyone here has been saying. The game is great! The special edition? Not so much. The actual box is very nice and it gives the sense that there is something really special waiting for you when you open it up. You can imagine the disapointment that I felt when I saw a cheap soft plastic toy of a Batarang that I wouldn’t even give someone as a joke gift. I, like many others, expected a metal replica or at least something that looked like you would find at the bottom of a really big box of cereal. It doesn’t even come of it’s stand! Heed our warning and DON’T purchase this “special” edition! We early adopters got cheated, but hopefully other people won’t have to be. Luckily I only paid twenty-five dollars over the list price unlike the forty that some people did. Just get the regular edition as the game itself is really great. Or wait a while as I’m sure they will lower the price when they realize people have caught on.

I’ve learned my lesson. I’ll never pre-order another special edition again. I hardly ever buy special editions in the first place and the one time I cave, this is what I get. I really hope the “Making Of” DVD is worth while. Though looking at the care they took with the other “special” items, I’m not holding out much hope.

The game is great. Possibly the greatest comic book video game out there. But, the collector’s edition is down right awful. For an additional [...]game really. Since they don’t even have the respect for you as a customer and give you a plastic case for the game itself! They place it in a paper case, which will wear away and break down eventually.

AVOID the collector’s edition. It is NOT worth it.

The centerpiece of the collector’s edition, the batarang replica, looks like complete crap. It is embarrassingly cheap looking/feeling. Inexcusably so.

Supposedly, they are meant to look beat up, as if they had been used by Batman and kept as a trophy. Instead, it looks like a cheap toy someone threw onto asphalt a bunch of times. I wasn’t expecting some detachable, metal batarang replica, but I was expecting something that looked halfway decent.

It is a complete and utter ripoff. It is not worth the extra $40 in any way shape or form.

The game is great, stick with the regular edition.

The greatest Batman game ever made, probably the best DC comics game ever as well. But the collectors edition is complete rubbish. The batarang is garbage, the journal is just a collection of bios you can pretty much read in the game itself. Do yourself a favor and get this great game…but make sure its the regular edition.

I am not reviewing the actual video game in this review. What I am reviewing is the crap that they call special in which you pay an extra 30-40 dollars for in this limited/special edition. First off, the outer case is made of cheap and flimsy plastic. When I opened it up, I expected the batarang to be at least somewhat cool. I thought it would be made out of metal and be detachable from the display stand. The batarang is in fact made of fat plastic, the kind that toddlers toys are usually made of. The batarang is also undetatchable from the stand. When you hold it, it feels light and very cheap. Mine is not even able to be displayed as there are several deep gouges in the face of the batarang. I wouldnt want to display the piece of crap anyway. The leather bound book is also nothing special. It is basically a thin piece of fabric wrapped around an average instruction manual sized book with no useful information in it. Everything about this set screams CHEAP!!!. It is an insult that whoever produced this limited edition set, decided to “stick it” to unsuspecting fans by charging 40 dollars more for 2 dollars worth of extras. My opinion is for you to save your 30-40 dollars and put it towards something else.

On another note, I have not yet played the game, but I have heard nothing but good things about it.
